POSITION SUMMARY:

Position Title: Parking Enforcement Officer 

Location:  CFB Esquimalt

Position Status: Union (PSAC)

Reports to: Site Supervisor

Hours of Work: 0700-1500 Mon-Fri, excluding statutory holidays

Wage: $22.29/hr plus shift premiums 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Monitor and enforce parking regulations across multiple sites, including Dockyard, Naden, Work Point, and Colwood.
  • Conduct regular patrols and respond to specific parking-related requests.
  • Provide support at entry gates as needed, including potentially staffing Naden during peak morning hours.
  • Issue parking tickets in accordance with Base Standing Orders and maintain accurate enforcement records.
  • Be available daily at the Dockyard Main Gate to answer questions related to parking tickets.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Site One Supervisor regarding enforcement activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken. Multilingual an asset but not necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, self-motivation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to operate individually as well as in a team.
  • A great attitude and customer service skills, with the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to manage difficult customer situations. Training may also be provided in conflict resolution.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and ability to use email.
  • Must possess a valid BC Drivers License and be able to obtain a military drivers license (DND 404).
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
