Reports to: Detachment Commander and/or Client Services Manager

Location: Masset - Haida Gwaii

Shift Types and Times: Days, Afternoons and Nights Available - Full-Time

Wage: $27.66/hr plus RSP

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Control access to the Operations Building, ensuring entry is restricted to authorized personnel only.

  • Coordinate access for scheduled security staff and approved security contractor escorts.

  • Monitor all internal and external intrusion, fire, and related alarm systems, and promptly report incidents to the appropriate authorities.

  • In the event of a tsunami or earthquake warning received from Maritime Operations Communications Control, immediately notify the Detachment Commander.

  • Initiate emergency call-outs of personnel when directed by the Detachment Commander.

OBJECTIVES

  • Ensure only authorized personnel are permitted access to the Operations Building.

  • Ensure all internal and external alarm incidents are promptly reported to the Detachment Commander

  • Minimize response times during emergency situations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming calls to the Detachment and maintain an effective communications link with on-call personnel.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Able to obtain and maintain a Level II (Secret) Security Clearance.

  • Minimum 19 years of age.

  • Able to work in a variety of weather conditions throughout the shift.

  • Fluent in English, with strong written, verbal, and reading skills.

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Exhibits excellent attention to detail, particularly in the execution of duties and incident report writing.

  • Possesses strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.

  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions in dynamic environments.

  • Demonstrated interest and experience in public service.
