Location: Royal Roads University
Shifts: Overnight Shifts; 22:30 - 06:30
Reports to: Site Supervisor
Wage: $20/hr - $21.53/hr
Job Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service to clients and the general public.
- Provide access control and security foot/mobile patrols as needed.
- Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
- Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures when necessary.
- Using mobile phones and basic computer programs.
- Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
- Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
- Know occupational health and safety regulations – training provided.
- Perform all duties with high safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Ability to remain alert while on duty.
- Ability to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
- Possess or be willing to obtain a valid BC security worker's license.
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Be comfortable using computers.
- Fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
- Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanour.
- Have excellent attention to complete incident report writing.
- Have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable handling emergencies in a calm manner – training & support will be provided.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
