Reports to: Detachment Commander and/or Client Services Manager
Location: Masset - Haida Gwaii
Shift Types and Times: Days, Afternoons and Nights Available - Full-Time
Wage: $27.66/hr plus RSP
RESPONSIBILITIES
Control access to the Operations Building, ensuring entry is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Coordinate access for scheduled security staff and approved security contractor escorts.
Monitor all internal and external intrusion, fire, and related alarm systems, and promptly report incidents to the appropriate authorities.
In the event of a tsunami or earthquake warning received from Maritime Operations Communications Control, immediately notify the Detachment Commander.
Initiate emergency call-outs of personnel when directed by the Detachment Commander.
OBJECTIVES
Ensure only authorized personnel are permitted access to the Operations Building.
Ensure all internal and external alarm incidents are promptly reported to the Detachment Commander
Minimize response times during emergency situations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming calls to the Detachment and maintain an effective communications link with on-call personnel.
Qualifications and Experience:
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Able to obtain and maintain a Level II (Secret) Security Clearance.
Minimum 19 years of age.
Able to work in a variety of weather conditions throughout the shift.
Fluent in English, with strong written, verbal, and reading skills.
Demonstrates a positive attitude with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Exhibits excellent attention to detail, particularly in the execution of duties and incident report writing.
Possesses strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
Able to work independently and make sound decisions in dynamic environments.
Demonstrated interest and experience in public service.
