Location: Various sites in Duncan and Chemainus
Position Status: Part-Time, Possibility of Full-Time
Wage Range: $20.50/hr - $21.53/hr
Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts
Reports to: Site Supervisor
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide assistance and information to employees, visitors, and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide access control ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas by verifying credentials.
- Conduct foots patrols to maintain visibility and cover all areas of the property.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches; take appropriate action and coordinate with emergency services if necessary.
- Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities in detailed written reports using Tracktik.
- Ensure security equipment such as radios, phones, access control systems are functioning, reporting any malfunctions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Positive attitude with a professional demeanour to provide superior customer service.
- A valid BC Security Workers License is an asset.
- A valid BC Driver's License is an asset.
- Physically fit and able to perform patrol duties effectively in a range of weather conditions.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English to communication with other and write reports.
- Excellent problem solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
