Title: Security Shift Supervisor 
Location: Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot - Rocky Point- Sooke
Position Status: Full Time
Shifts: 15:00-23:00 (5 on/2 off) & 23:00-07:00 (5 on/3 off)
Wage: $21.67/hr - $22.70/hr
Reports to: Site Manager 

Job Summary:
The Security Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the security team during assigned shifts. This role includes managing security personnel, ensuring the safety and security of the premises, responding to incidents, and maintaining detailed reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and direct the activities ensure that all Commissionaires adhere to post orders during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure that all Commissionaires are properly dressed, equipped, and fully capable of performing their duties while on shift. 
  • Conduct briefings at the beginning of each shift to communicate assignments and updates.
  • Prepare and review detailed incident reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare shift summaries and reports for review by the CFAD Security Manager.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents and emergencies, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
  • Train new Commissionaires on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for Commissionaires to maintain high performance standards.
  • Oversee the access control procedures, ensuring that patrols are completed in accordance with the required schedules as promulgated by the CFAD Security Manager. 
  • Address and resolve any access-related issues promptly.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for security matters during the shift.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Level II (Secret) Security Clearance.
  • Must have completed the Commissionaire Security Officer Course and the Commissionaire Supervisor course (or willing to complete)
  • Ability to interact with the public and to deal with members of DND in a pleasant but firm manner
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to contribute as a member of a team and operate as a leader with little supervision.
  • Ability to train, motivate and supervise personnel
  • Ability to assess new staff for suitability at the site to ensure that a reputation for friendly, competent service is attained and maintained
